Any country is known by its people. Based on people’s behavior one make judgement.

Recently Government has tried to achieve two goals through laws and policy.

1. Open defecation free country

2. Safety of people through motor vehicle amendment.

On 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, our honourable prime minister announced India as open defecation free country. Our government claims that they built 110 crores toilets for us. No doubt they have made it through many applying stick policy like at some places their rations were stopped if they do not build toilets. However government could not regulate behaviour of people to use toilets. There are many old people who still defecates openly because they do not want to change themselves.

On the second goal, government have forced people to follow traffic rules but this has not stopped people ignoring traffic rules where proper traffic administration is still a dream.

People should change their way of seeing these policies.These policies are made for betterment of people which will lead to enhance human capital and that would lead to economic development. How government can change this behaviour? May be they need to spread more awareness of benefits of these policies. It would be fantastic if government can qoute practical example of effects of not following these policies.

Post- independence it was unanimously said in constituent assembly that India will be a secular country. India has never divided anything in regards of religion.

In India many people believe in God( whoever they be Shree Ram, allah etc.) and they fear to commit any sins in the name of religion. They think that their deeds are judged by God and they will be punished accordingly. This belief has released much burden on administration due to comparatively less crime. Sometimes government also maintains distance in interfering in the matters of religion and even they support also as in the case sikhs are allowed with turban without helmet while driving motorcycle.

However in recent times with the advent of BJP in power religion is possessing threat for administration. Even government is also silent on this issue. In the name of Lord Ram, mob lynching has increased. No doubt cow has got important place in the heart of Hindus but killing people in the name of cow is never justifying. These are increasing crimes and challenging administration of the secular India.

In the last parliament session(pre- election), a bill was introduced which say s India will give citizenship to non-muslims illegal migrants of our neighbouring country. Is this inequality fair in secular country? At one hamd our apex court is trying to put equality in access of Sabrimala temple where menstruating women were denied while on the other government is dividing people on the basis of muslims and non-muslims.

At the end, every religion is best and people should have heart to heart connection irrespective of their religion and most importantly humanity should be kept above all.

Media is known as fourth pillar of democratic government. It can be of any form print media, electronic media and now a days trending social media. Article 19 of Indian constitution empowers Indian media to have freedom of speech.Media acts as a point of contact for government and common people.Objective of media is to update people about day to day activities performed within and outside territory of our country.

However in recent times it is observed that media is becoming biased towards government. This is really a disaster for democracy. Recently Press council of India supported lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir when a local kashmir newspaper filed a petition in supreme court about violation of fundamental rights of people of jammu and kashmir.

At the time of election Media plays the most important role for formation of government. As they can only tell how the previous government was able to fulfill their promise made in last election manifesto. If they show only positive deeds of government neglecting important failures of government then country may not judge their representative.This can affect the election result. And this happened also when National sample survey organization report about unemployment was not published before 17th lok sabha election.

Media plays important role for educating people about any scheme of government and their implementation. Take the case of MGNREGA, it was the media that came out in public and told people about corruption occuring in this policy. This led to amendment in implementation of MGNREGA with compulsory linking of aadhar and giving money through direct benefit transfer.

Biased media alters the thinking of people towards anything. For e.g. Demonatisation in India was carried out at 8Nov, 2016 with objective of removing black money. However failed in objective government announced that this move was for making India a digital economy. This was supported by many media houses and people accepted that. This led to less criticism of Demonatisation among masses. But we know today that this is one of the reason for slowing down our economy.

Now a days media houses are running for monetary purpose. They know if they say anything against government they would face the consequences. Recently in UP, a news reporter claimed that students were served Bread and salt in Mid day meal and soon after he was arrested. This has also created fear in the honest journalists.

I would also like to quote one more example of consequence of biased media. Just before Lok sabha election pulwama attack happened and in retaliation Indian soldiers fought bravely. But this was politicised by modi administration and backed by media. Apart from showing the failures and success of indian government every news channel was flooded with applauding Indian government for carrying out balakot strike. This has put curtain on failures of indian government and they came again in power with huge majority. No doubt we should be proud of our soldiers and also support government in such crucial time and at the same time we should not neglect the failures of government and choose our representative keeping everything in mind.

The above examples show the effect of biased media and hence it possess threat for democracy.

Press council of India is empowered to regulate media houses in our country. They are the watchdog of media and they should take strict action if any media is misleading people with biasness.

I belong from Gaya district of Bihar. You might have heard Gautam Buddha got enlightenment here. I have friends from almost all state of India. I have always heard about Bihar from them. They say Bihar is not a good place and it is home for hooligans and blah blah. Many people use Bihari as a synonym of goons. Why this image is there in their mind? This is the question always pondered me.

No doubt Bihar is a poor state and its all because of the politicians who ruled after independence(exceptions are there). If you see history of bihar you will find its importance. King Ashoka, chandragupta, Chanakya, aryabhatt many more personalities belong from here. You can find many freedom fighter as well as social worker hailing from Bihar like Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Jay prakash narayan and many more. Also you can find many civil servants serving the country and they belong from Bihar.

Now I return to my question. No doubt at every nook and corner you can find a Bihari and this migration is only because to quench the appetite.This image of Bihari is because of some community who commit crimes across the country. Criminal type community is available every where. Rajasthan is always in limelight for honour killing , Haryana in drugging and there are many more.

One serious issue why Bihar is not developing is because people studying from there leaves Bihar. They get settled in other states or sometimes abroad. I also belong to the same category and initially i was also having same plan but now frankly speaking i want to go back to my proud birth place and do something for my own people. Also i urge Bihari to come back to our beautiful village and lets develop it together.

At last, Bihar is indestructible part of India. For other state people i would ask one question do you leave your one family member who is weak or you support them to become strong? Bihar has deviated from the path of development and need your support.

Recently you might have heard about huge amount of fine being charged by traffic police. This came after amendment made by parliament. Was it required? In my opinion yes it was. Why one have to pay fines, if he/she violates the rules. People are furious about such huge fines it means they are still not willing to change themselves and blame government. If a person follows traffic rules why will he get fined. Government took this decision after taking several moral steps. Puducherry LG distributed Helmet to bikers, there was an advertisement by akshay kumar to create awareness about traffic rules etc. Despite all these steps, no. Of accidental death was not decreasing.( 1.5 lakh a year). This must be a welcome step by the government and we should join hands with govt. to reduce accidents.

However i have some concern on implementation of these rules. Psychology says to change any habit it takes 21 days so govt should have given some buffer time to public and in the mean time they should create awareness among people. I will applaud odisha govt for this for their delaying in implementation of fine and in the mean time educating people about new fines.

So i think its better to have license and follow traffic rules rather than paying fines. Also if you want to know about traffic behavior google about japan’s. I had the opportunity to witness this myself and i was astonished and i think when can i see India like this.

Today our country is divided in two parts. One is India and another is Bharat. India is referred to those people who are living decent quality of life. They have their source of income which fulfills their needs,wants and desires. On the contrary Bharat is referred to those people who struggle for one square meal. For them life is for struggle only. We can find these people all around our country mainly at traffic signals, railway stations etc. However some of them work hard and enters into other class(For eg. Late Abdul kalam and many more). What triggered them is the key point to be looked upon.Recently Donald Trump said that India is no more developing country. This status should be reviewed by UN. But is it like so? Still people here die of starvation although on paper we have enough food to feed our citizens. Health facilities are yet not sufficient for Bharat.

Role of government- Keeping the politics apart, all govt have launched schemes to solve this issue. But problem lies in implementation. Corruption is the main culprit which has failed its proper implementation. Govt. must look on this part through proper accountability mechanism. Gandhiji, Bhagat singh had different approach but their goal was same to make India one sovereign country (by boundary, by class… ).

Role of India- They have legal as well as moral obligations. Tax payments is legal one while donation falls into moral part.Many people have put commendable effort to uplift Bharat. But the demand is more and more. One can help through any way which suits them. Educate, adopt, donate… Many more verbs are available to guide us. But need of the hour is to adopt any of these steps.

I am leaving this to you to choose your own verb and be the part of upliftment of Bharat and lets together make it India and be proud to be a part of India.

Some years ago (may be 10 or 11) I was eating samosa in a hotel. An old lady came with her son and ordered 3 samosa 2 for her son and 1 for herself. I was familiar with that lady. She used to sell vegetables on the roadside. As they received their snack, one customer came to their shop so she went to attend him. Meantime her son ate his samosa and asked for more. Her economic condition didn’t allow her to buy one more samosa. However without hesitating she offered her samosa to him and quenched her hunger with water. I witnessed whole scene and it left me astonishing. That day I was not able to buy 1 samosa for her may be in those days Rs. 5 was heavy amount for me. That day made me to realize an unconditional love that a mother has for her children. From then I started observing other ladies behavior towards their children (Observing own mom may not lead to result because it is obvious she will love you). I was amazed to find that you cannot segregate any female on this basis. Everyone gives their 100 % in bestowing love towards her children. Whatever be the situation, your mother will always stand beside you. We cannot realize the pain which mothers of Bhagat Singh, Neerja Bhanot and many more had. Also many children are unlucky who are debarred from getting those unconditional love. 12 may is celebrated as mother`s day but I think we cannot repay the sacrifice which our mother had in one day. At the end I would say always try to make her smile each day.

The election has knocked our doors. All leaders of political parties has started blaming each other for their deeds.Ruling party will always show their work which has positive impact on society. Amidst all these, one question always bothers me. Whom should i vote in my constituency? A representative whose party represent a good prime minister or that representative who has not got any chance to show his potential. Since the former one has been in power as well as in opposition. During both periods, the growth rate of my constituency seems to loose the race with an ant. This dilemma gives birth to a new question. Should it not be that along with our PM, all MP should be a good leader? The MP should work for the betterment of their respective constituencies. what if a scheme launched by central govt. is not followed at particular area. It becomes the responsibility of the MP and administrative officer of that area to enforce those scheme. But suppose you elected your representative keeping in mind the leader who will be in center. we then think that we have done good. our PM is good and he will work for the betterment of the society. But the real issue arises then. what if the scheme launched by center does not reach to common public because of negligence of MP and other related executive. So caste your vote wisely. what you want a better PM or a better MP? you must have to do trade off between them. Choose your leader wisely. And yes, a single vote matters!
